Is your garden a haven that you want to spend time in or another item on your list to do? Ever wish you had somewhere to sit and enjoy the view, a quiet space for reading or writing that catches the morning sun or somewhere that makes a statement to spend quality time entertaining friends?
May be you need somewhere inviting for children to play out doors, something more low maintenance or something that has elements that remind you of another favourite place. Its very effective creating 'rooms' in the garden or different areas with different moods. There should be several places to sit and enjoy the view. |
Transformations can work with you to create and realise a garden that gives you space for the important things in your life. Once we've got the concept right planting up a bed from scratch or weeding and renovating a neglected bed can be arranged.
Previous garden design challenges have included creating gardens in the soil of impoverished new builds and bringing several pre loved gardens back to life. All the views below are from beds and garden areas I have created or renovated. I am currently working on a Mexican Artizan garden more information on this at the bottom of this page. East Meets West Garden
I recently worked on a redesign for a client who was looking for a concept to transform her garden to have much more drama. The existing garden was the classic rectangular landing strip of lawn flanked by two high maintenance herbaceous borders. Criteria for the design brief involved creating more features for interest, places to sit, lower maintenance and incorporation of a metal bower feature.

Mexican and Artizan Garden
One of my recent projects has been working on a garden makeover for a couple in Birmingham designing a Mexican Artizan garden. You can see the pin board of ideas which I shared with the client to collect and agree design ideas here. Criteria for the design included the need for very low maintenance with a contemporary feel to fit in with the style of the house, and some where to sit and write benefiting from morning sun. The inspiration for a Mexican theme came from a boutique hotel - the location of the couples honey moon. They were also interested in exploring having space to connect outside with inside and provide a focus for entertaining guests. I was keen to incorporate a quirky twist with artizan elements to connect with the home owners artistic roots. |
